Cost: Free of Charge. Buy your own beers.
Aurora: 276 Westminster St.
Have you ever wished you could experience what Providence was like in its heyday during the late 19th century? Now you can! Travel back in time with local historian, preservation consultant and renowned Providence storyteller, Ned Connors, to experience 19th century Providence in 3D!
For one evening only, the Aurora in downtown Providence will be transformed into a giant stereopticon, as Ned guides you through vintage stereo images from the Rhode Island Historical Society's collection, and some never before seen images provided by the Providence Public Library, projected onto a silver screen. 3-D glasses will be provided free of charge, but you'll have to buy your own beer.
PPS would like to thank the Rhode Island Historical Society for their generosity in sharing both their stereo images and 3D glasses, the Providence Public Library for sharing their image collection, and the Aurora for partnering with us on this exciting event.
