Annual Meeting and Preservation Lecture

PPS brought Renowned Author and Speaker, Donovan D. Rypkema to Providence!

The Providence Preservation Society announced its 2008 Annual Meeting and Preservation Lecture which featured Donovan D. Rypkema, a National Speaker and Author on the Economics of Historic Preservation on January 22, 2009 at the Providence Public Library.

Mr. Rypkema is principal of Place Economics, a Washington, D.C.-based real estate and economic development-consulting firm specializing in services to public and nonprofit sector clients who are dealing with downtown and neighborhood commercial district revitalization and the reuse of historic structures. Rypkema established Heritage Strategies International, a firm created to provide similar services to world-wide clients. Rypkema has worked with communities in 49 States and more than 30 countries. He is the author of numerous articles and publications as well as a book, The Economics of Historic Preservation: A Community Leader’s Guide.
