Since 1956, PPS has served as Providence’s leading citywide preservation organization, working to save historic buildings and neighborhoods, while also encouraging the best in new construction to enhance this great historic city. Our educational programs benefit children as well as adults; and our advocacy efforts both call attention to distressed historic properties and celebrate exemplary projects.

While PPS has a great history as an effective force for civic good in the city, we cannot rest on our laurels now: Indeed, in these challenging times, we must redouble our efforts to promote revitalization and to ensure the protection for the irreplaceable historic assets that we have inherited from those before us – and hope to pass on to posterity.

Of course, these efforts require the support of as many people in the community as possible. As an independent, nongovernmental organization, we especially rely on the generosity of individuals like you.
